BallerineSophie Léal began the piano with private lessons, then at the Montpellier Conservatoire, where she also studied cello, orchestration, analysis and harmony. In 1991 she spent a year and a half in San Francisco training in composition and jazz singing with Tom Constanten and Jesse Foster.
Back in France, she obtained a master’s degree in musicology (on Francis Poulenc’s 5 keyboard concertos) and then the CAPES teaching qualification in music education at the Sorbonne. A pianist and composer, she performs regularly in concert to interpret her works.
