Sophie Léal began the piano with private lessons, then at the Montpellier Conservatoire, where she also studied cello, orchestration, analysis and harmony. In 1991 she spent a year and a half in San Francisco training in composition and jazz singing with Tom Constanten and Jesse Foster.

Back in France, she obtained a master’s degree in musicology (on Francis Poulenc’s 5 keyboard concertos) and then the CAPES teaching qualification in music education at the Sorbonne. A pianist and composer, she performs regularly in concert to interpret her works.
En 2009, elle enregistre et produit son premier album solo pour piano, "Resonances", dont est extraite la pièce "Obsession".

The CD of the album “Résonnances” is included with this score.
