The first collection of French song sheet music graded by level of difficulty, CrocK’MusiC offers a clear path from level 1 to 9, designed by piano teachers. The works, drawn mainly from the French chanson repertoire, speak immediately to the student: they build on familiar melodies, stimulate listening, make reading easier and recreate a direct link with the instrument.

Technique stops being an obstacle and becomes a lever; CrocK’MusiC is not an alternative to the traditional repertoire, it is a parallel path that leads naturally back to it.

Jean Rieux’s piano transcription of this declaration of love from a father to his son is adapted here to offer a perfect balance between the harmonic richness of the original version and demanding piano writing, typical of the advanced levels. Composed by Pascal Obispo in 2001, this ballad is built on a circular harmonic structure that grows in intensity.

Difficulty level: ⑧ (Difficult pieces)
This level 8 score demands great mastery of tone and dynamics to do justice to the melody.
Learning focuses on:
- Rhythm: precision and placement of the melody over a left-hand accompaniment of arpeggiated chords.
- Technique: executing various difficulties in both hands, including extended arpeggios and the expression of the melody in the right hand.
- Clarity: an airy layout in E flat major, careful and complete engraving with fingerings.
