“Mon père m’a donné un mari” is a traditional French song with a lively, humorous character, based on a play of repetitions and cumulative variations. Its catchy melody and marked rhythm make it a dynamic piece, particularly popular in the children’s and folk repertoire. Easy to memorise and well suited to expressive performance, it develops a sense of rhythm and articulation while keeping a playful spirit.
