The Anacrouse collection offers pianists, beginners and advanced alike, a wide choice of classical works from the Renaissance to the present day. It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.

The “Minuets in F major (Anh. 113)” and “G major (Anh. 116)” are fundamental steps in learning the keyboard. From a pedagogical point of view, they introduce simple polyphony and the management of balance between the two hands. The Minuet in F major is an excellent exercise in legato phrasing and rhythmic regularity, while the Minuet in G major offers interesting work on interval leaps and more dynamic articulation. These pieces teach the young musician to make each hand sing independently while respecting the noble framework of the Baroque dance.

Taken from the famous 1725 manuscript given by Johann Sebastian Bach to his second wife, Anna Magdalena, these dances illustrate the intimate, family musical atmosphere of the Bach household. Although listed under the “Anh” (Anhang) numbers of the BWV catalogue, these pieces are today considered works collected by Bach for the education of his family. Their formal simplicity, melodic elegance and harmonic clarity have made them, for centuries, the preferred gateways to the world of Baroque music and the genius of the Bach lineage.
