The Anacrouse collection offers pianists, beginners and advanced alike, a wide choice of classical works from the Renaissance to the present day. It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.

“Spring” (Opus 8 No. 1 - RV 269), presented here in a solo piano transcription by David Neyrolles, is a luminous piece that allows work on clarity of articulation and independence of the hands. This title is taken from the reference songbook “9 Famous Classical Themes for Piano”, the third volume of the Anacrouse collection. This elementary-to-intermediate transcription offers fluid writing that makes it possible to approach the Baroque style, paying attention to precision of attack and rhythmic regularity to convey the freshness of this springtime theme.

Composed around 1723 by Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), this concerto is the first part of the famous Four Seasons. A true masterpiece of descriptive music, it illustrates the awakening of nature, birdsong and the murmur of fountains. Having become one of the most recognisable melodies in the world, often heard in the media and in cinema, this work is adapted here to allow the pianist to rediscover at the keyboard all the joy, brilliance and vitality of this essential page by the Venetian genius.
