The \u201cSonata in E major, K. 380 (L. 23)\u201d is one of Domenico Scarlatti\u2019s most solemn and majestic pages. Nicknamed the \u201cCort\u00e8ge\u201d, it offers remarkable pedagogical interest for work on a pearly touch, articulation and rhythmic precision. Its horn calls and march rhythms demand great clarity in the repeated notes and mastery of dynamics to convey its full aristocratic dimension.<\/p>\n
Although originally composed for the harpsichord, this sonata is among the Scarlatti works that adapt best to the modern piano.
