The first collection of French song sheet music graded by level of difficulty, CrocK’MusiC offers a clear path from level 1 to 9, designed by piano teachers. The works, drawn mainly from the French chanson repertoire, speak immediately to the student: they build on familiar melodies, stimulate listening, make reading easier and recreate a direct link with the instrument.

Technique stops being an obstacle and becomes a lever; CrocK’MusiC is not an alternative to the traditional repertoire, it is a parallel path that leads naturally back to it.

Armelle Cocheril’s piano transcription of this Charles Aznavour monument is adapted here to offer a perfect balance between the theatrical irony of the lyrics and virtuosic piano writing, worthy of the greatest stage standards. Released in 1960, this song tells of the hopes and setbacks of an artist in search of fame.

Difficulty level: ⑨ (Difficult pieces)

This level 9 score represents the summit of the collection, demanding a solid technique and a keen sense of musical staging.

Learning focuses on:

- Rhythm: mastery of swing and complex syncopation, with a pulse that must remain nervous and driving despite the technical difficulties.

- Technique: work on velocity runs and total independence of the hands to sustain the dialogue between the melody and the pianistic counter-melodies.

- Clarity: an airy layout in C minor, careful and complete engraving with fingerings.

Crock'Music scores include the lyrics and are printed on sturdy natural Rives 170g paper.

These individual scores are available in songbook form, but also as downloads.
