It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.

The “Solfegietto” (in C minor) is an exceptional stylistic study for working on the independence of the hands and regularity. The challenge for the pianist lies in the constant passing of the melody from one hand to the other, creating an uninterrupted line of semiquavers. The work focuses on precision of articulation and the management of arm weight to obtain a pearly touch, even at a fast tempo. It is the ideal piece for developing finger agility and perfect synchronisation, while mastering the dynamic contrasts inherent in the pre-classical style.

Composed in 1766, the Solfeggio (better known by its diminutive Solfegietto) is the most famous work by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788), the second son of Johann Sebastian Bach. A great theorist and visionary composer, C.P.E. Bach marked the transition between the Baroque and Classicism. This piece, taken from his collection of pedagogical pieces, perfectly illustrates the “sensitive style” (Empfindsamer Stil) he favoured: nervous, expressive and technically ingenious music that profoundly influenced the young Mozart and the future Beethoven.

La collection Anacrouse offre aux pianistes, débutants comme confirmés, un large choix d’œuvres classiques de la Renaissance à nos jours.
