The Anacrouse collection offers pianists, beginners and advanced alike, a wide choice of classical works from the Renaissance to the present day. It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.<\/p>\n
The \u201cAve Maria\u201d adapted for low voice (contralto or bass) underlines the depth and solemnity of the work. The challenge for the performer is to maintain a light melodic line despite the natural density of the voice, avoiding any heaviness in the phrasing. The piano, in a darker register, must remain particularly limpid to let the voice breathe and preserve the contemplative character of this prayer.<\/p>\n
Composed in 1825 by Franz Schubert (1797-1828), this work is inspired by Walter Scott\u2019s poem The Lady of the Lake. Although originally conceived as \u201cEllen\u2019s Third Song\u201d, its mystical beauty led to the universal adoption of the Latin text of the prayer to the Virgin.
