It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.

“La Danza” (Neapolitan Tarantella), presented here in a solo piano transcription by David Neyrolles, is a character piece that demands great finger agility and a very sustained sense of rhythm. This title is taken from the reference songbook “9 Famous Classical Themes for Piano”, the third volume of the Anacrouse collection. This elementary-to-intermediate transcription makes it possible to approach Italian virtuosity with fluid writing, working in particular on the regularity of the triple rhythm and the lightness of touch needed to convey the intoxication of the dance.

Composed in 1835 by Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868), this tarantella is one of the most famous pieces from his Soirées musicales. Originally a true vocal tour de force, it depicts the effervescence and joy of a Neapolitan festival under the sun. Having become a universally recognised melody, often used to illustrate the soul of Italy in cinema or advertising, this work allows the pianist to rediscover at the keyboard all the fire, brilliance and infectious good humour of this masterpiece by the “Swan of Pesaro”.

La collection Anacrouse offre aux pianistes, débutants comme confirmés, un large choix d’œuvres classiques de la Renaissance à nos jours.
