“Treize à la douzaine” offers 13 scores of a selection of 12 emblematic works by Marc Perrone. Having been closely involved in the creation of this songbook, here are his opening words:
“A few clarifications about this book.
We play the diatonic accordion; it is an instrument that is not finished, that is to say there are many systems that differ from one another and people keep inventing new ones.
For me no system prevails, so I play on my own system, which is described in this book. It is a system no worse than the others. For the songbook, we fingered certain pieces with my system because I composed them on those instruments, so to reflect them properly the best thing was to finger them in that system, such as “La valse Dombelle”, “La valse de Beauregard”, one of the versions of the “Valcerves”; the others are fingered for two rows with 8 basses or for three rows in the Jean-Pierre Leray system, that is two rows G-C plus a row of accidentals”...
Each work is accompanied by a text by Marc Perrone.
This book is enriched throughout its pages with illustrations by Jacky Liégeois.
