The Anacrouse collection offers pianists, beginners and advanced alike, a wide choice of classical works from the Renaissance to the present day. It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.

The “Andante” (from Concerto No. 21, K. 467), presented here in a solo piano transcription by David Neyrolles, is a piece of absolute serenity that calls for great delicacy of touch and mastery of a singing legato. This title is taken from the reference songbook “9 Famous Classical Themes for Piano”, the second volume of the Anacrouse collection. This elementary-to-intermediate transcription makes it possible to approach Mozartian transparency with fluid writing, working in particular on the balance between the triplet accompaniment and the airy melodic line.

Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) in 1785, this movement is one of the most famous in the repertoire for piano and orchestra. Nicknamed “Elvira Madigan” after its emblematic use in cinema, this theme stands out for its dreamlike beauty and timeless clarity, having become an absolute reference in classical music. This edition offers the pianist the pleasure of rediscovering at the keyboard all the grace, brilliance and perfect balance of this masterly page of Viennese Classicism.
