Bras dessus bras dessous

The first collection of French song sheet music graded by level of difficulty, CrocK’MusiC offers a clear path from level 1 to 9, designed by piano teachers. The works, drawn mainly from the French chanson repertoire, speak immediately to the student: they build on familiar melodies, stimulate listening, make reading easier and recreate a direct link with the instrument.

Technique stops being an obstacle and becomes a lever; CrocK’MusiC is not an alternative to the traditional repertoire, it is a parallel path that leads naturally back to it.

Aline Sans’s piano transcription of this delicate work is adapted here to offer a perfect balance between the melodic complicity of the song and high-flying piano writing, while meeting the demands of the upper levels. To music by Maurice Vander, his faithful pianist, Nougaro depicts a lovers’ stroll with the mastery of words that characterises him.

Difficulty level: ⑨ (Difficult pieces)
This level 9 score represents the culmination of the CrocK’MusiC path, ideal for advanced students.
Learning focuses on:
- Rhythm: mastering an elegant swing and rigorous ensemble to serve the dialogue between the voices.
- Technique: executing various difficulties in both hands, including stretches, work on polyphony and expert handling of dynamics to underline the structure of the work.
- Clarity: an airy layout in D minor, careful and complete engraving with fingerings.

Crock'Music scores include the lyrics and are printed on sturdy natural Rives 170g paper.
These individual scores are available in songbook form, but also as downloads.
