Traditional
EderleziThis score offers a very accessible Piano I part (melody) while avoiding the easy option of the single melodic line so often used in four-hands transcriptions.
A traditional song of the Roma of the Balkans, popularised by Goran Bregović, Ederlezi is reinvented here for four hands in an original arrangement combining new harmonies and the characteristic rhythm of Balkan music. The two pianists must listen to each other and cooperate closely to convey the asymmetrical accents and harmonic colours, offering a vibrant, intense duo faithful to the festive, poetic spirit of the tradition.
