GreensleevesThe Comptine collection is made up of transcriptions of children's and traditional songs.
Each title includes a piano arrangement graded by difficulty level (from 1 to 9) to suit both beginner and experienced musicians.
The difficulty of the piano arrangement is ⑥, corresponding to a fairly easy piece with a fairly brisk tempo and more developed piano playing, combining the theme and the accompaniment in the right hand.
“Greensleeves” is a traditional English melody dating from the 16th century, often associated with the court of King Henry VIII. Its melancholy, elegant character, carried by a harmony typical of the Renaissance, makes it one of the most famous airs of the early repertoire. Taken up in many forms, notably as a Christmas carol with “What Child Is This”, this timeless melody retains strong expressive power and an immediately recognisable charm.
The sheet, including the piano arrangement, the lyrics and a vocal score with chords and guitar tablature, is printed on natural white Rives 180 g/m² paper and presented in a transparent plastic sleeve.
The downloadable version (PDF) includes the MP3.
