The Anacrouse collection offers pianists, beginners and advanced alike, a wide choice of classical works from the Renaissance to the present day. It brings together major works of the repertoire as well as rarer pieces, and also offers transcriptions for piano solo or four hands, selected for their musical and educational interest. Each score, available individually, benefits from careful editorial work: a rigorously established musical text, clear and legible engraving, accompanied by a short biography of the composer and a note on the work.

The “Te Deum” (Prelude), presented here in a solo piano transcription by David Neyrolles, is a ceremonial piece that calls for proud playing and great rhythmic stability. This title is taken from the reference songbook “9 Famous Classical Themes for Piano”, the second volume of the Anacrouse collection. This elementary-to-intermediate transcription makes it possible to approach the splendour of the Grand Siècle with fluid writing, working on octaves and the fanfare spirit typical of the trumpets and timpani of the period.

Composed around 1692 by Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704), this Te Deum (H. 146) is one of the most radiant masterpieces of French Baroque music. Its prelude in rondeau form became world-famous after being chosen as the Eurovision signature tune. This edition allows the pianist to rediscover at the keyboard all the solemnity, brilliance and majesty of this historic page, a true symbol of musical art under the reign of Louis XIV.
